Giro d'Italia 2020: Switchbacks & Snowcaps FULL!
May 25th-May 31st, 2020 Join us for the final week of the 2020 Giro d'Italia, filled with some incredible and iconic climbs (and views)! We'll start off in Bormio and enjoy the Italian Alps in springtime, including seeing three Giro stages (18, 19, and 20). First we warm up our climbing legs for 2 days in Bormio along the Gavia and Stelvio passes, followed by seeing the stage 18 finish at the Laghi di Cancano. We'll then transfer to the Piedmont region to catch the finish of Stage 19 in Asti. Our final day will be epic for us as well as the riders is the second to last stage: Colle dell'Agnello! Watch the 103rd annual "corsa rosa" with us this year and witness the pros battling it out on some of the toughest stages. Italian-Swiss Alps Adventure
August 6th-August 14th, 2021 The Romans referred to it as the "via Aurea", and today we call it the "Passo Spluga": an ancient road over an epic mountain pass with more than 2,000 years of history, the very road we'll be cycling over to get to Switzerland our first day of the tour. Over the pass (and before!) we'll be immersed in spectacular alpine scenery, and we'll even be spending a night in the famous town of St. Moritz. We'll cycle back into Italy through Livigno, a once-upon-a-time very isolated town, closed between the giant mountains surrounding it, yet it's survived through today and has even expanded and become it's own sort of resort town thanks to old amendments that have declared it a "duty free" zone. The final stages of our adventure include the Stelvio Pass, and the beautiful cycle path through Valtellina from Bormio to Menaggio. Italian-Swiss Lakes Adventure
September 1st-September 9th, 2021 Northern Italy's natural lakes are famous and admired all over the world, nestled between the Alps to the North and the flat lands of the Po Valley to the South. With breathtaking panoramas, ancient villages, and villas on each lake, each spot is full of history and tradition. These lakes and their mountains have been natural and physical borders for thousands of years. Today they continue to serve as borders between various Italian provinces and between Italy and Switzerland. There's so much diversity environmentally and culturally within this small area--you can only truly grasp all there is to see by bike. We'll be riding many switchbacks, back roads, and "passi"--that is, mountain passes and some steps on foot. When we enter Switzerland the second time, we will take a short, ancient footpath between two towns that was used as a contraband road in the past! Join us for this 8-night adventure to experience 8 different lakes! Pellegrinaggio Roma-Madonna del Ghisallo
October 16th-October 25th, 2020 Join us for this 6-stage cycling pilgrimage from Vatican City to the Madonna del Ghisallo. Over the course of the week, we will be cycling nearly 850 kilometers through the northern half of Italy, stopping in several unique places. The journey to the Madonna del Ghisallo doesn't have to be just a bike touring experience, but can be the chance to learn more about culture and art, a test of fortitude, a fitness goal, a pilgrimage, a personal or spiritual journey, and of course to enjoy a lot of great food and wine! We hope you'll join us for this epic trip to end the season! Read more about this trip and what it means to Luca here. |
